Sticky Asian glazed chicken legs
Ingredients
- – 8 chicken legs
- – 1/4 cup soy sauce
- – 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- – 2 tablespoons honey
- – 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- – 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- – 2 cloves garlic minced
- – 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- – 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- – 2 tablespoons water
- – Optional toppings: sesame seeds chopped green onions
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and lightly grease it.
- In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
- Place the chicken legs in a large resealable bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken legs, making sure they are evenly coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or ideally, overnight.
- Remove the chicken legs from the marinade, reserving the marinade for later use. Place the chicken legs on the prepared baking sheet, spaced apart.
- Bake the chicken legs in the preheated oven for about 40-45 minutes, or until they are cooked through and the skin is crispy, turning them halfway through cooking.
- While the chicken legs are baking, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water until smooth. Add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan and bring the marinade to a boil over medium heat. Stir constantly until the sauce thickens.
- Once the chicken legs are cooked, remove them from the oven. Brush the thickened glaze over the chicken legs, making sure to coat them evenly.
- If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions over the glazed chicken legs for added flavor and garnish.
- Serve the Sticky Asian Glazed Chicken Legs hot, and enjoy!
Notes
Make sure to adjust the cooking time based on the size and thickness of the chicken legs to ensure they are fully cooked.
